Award Winning Photographer
View PortfolioSAVUTI, BOTSWANA
I lay down just beyond the edge of the jeep.
At ground level this lumbering giant looks
like an avalanche. With a 200mm lens I have just seconds to get the shot, he is close enough to smell, silent shutter click as I crawl back to safety…
LANGA TOWNSHIP, SOUTH AFRICA
This young girl watches us pensively from
her window, her look seems broody and longing but she’s not locked in, she’s
behind bars to keep her safe in this
high crime area.
LI RIVER, CHINA
The fisherman lights his lamp in the pre-dawn glow, his cormorants perched patiently waiting to fish. Sadly this tradition is no longer practiced in this part of China but you
can still photograph it.
NAMIBIA DESERT
Doors off, rushing air, helicopter sounds drown out everything but the view. The rich red sand dunes in Namibia are some of the world’s highest and from up above it looks like a giant’s footstep in caramel.
VIC FALLS MOONBOW, ZAMBIA
A rainbow transformed by moonlight into a ‘Moonbow’. This is not an easy shot as you have to walk in at night past hippo, elephant & crocs with nothing but a torch in hand and the gaping Vic Falls on the other, but what is a life without risks..
SHEIKH ZAYED ROAD, DUBAI
Will our future cities look like Dubai? Walking the streets below you can’t help but be humbled into insignificance as steel mountains tower above. To get this shot you have to know a local as its private roof top and permission involves an exchanging of coin. Is it worth it? 100%! This was late 2015 by now the skyline will have changed dramatically. Cities like humans ever evolving.
SOUTHERN AFRICA
The Freest of Nature Spirits.
What a dream it would be to fly.
Famous golfer, Gary Player said
“The more I practice, the luckier I get.”
Never has this been more true than for the bird photographer!
FLORAL KINGDOM, SOUTH AFRICA
There is an endless story
to be told
at our foot level…
Down on your belly is a
thriving underworld, a microcosm best photographed in macro.
An African Notebook
The Safari Photographer
I am both a professional safari guide and photographer.
As a professional photographer, my work hangs in homes ad office spaces around the world, including a National Geographic Office in Germany.
As a Professional Safari Guide/Tour Director I have worked for the most prestigious of African Safari operators Andbeyond, Micato & Londolozi
In 2011 I took everything I had learnt working for the best to create Photography Tours (PT) the first business of its kind in Cape Town. PT has since won 8 Trip Advisor Awards and Luxury Travel Guide Bespoke Tour Operator Western Cape.
The pandemic had a major impact on business but just like tumultuous ocean waves, the cycle of life ebbs and flows. I returned to a safari-life, as manager guide a Matla Game Lodge in Madike Game reserve and specialistic photographic guide at Tau Game Lodge
